In traditional painting, women are often viewed. Often looking away, you observe her. I wanted to create a piece that shows the woman viewing the audience. The portrait does not entirely reveal her but she is not hiding.
“View” was created in 2016 and represents the birth of Winniemay’s shift into portraiture. It was originally sold to an art collector but has recently come back into possession. This popular work has been sold in prints for several years, with the original once again available to purchase.
