Lipstick Traces

Lipstick Traces was a collaborative project by Winniemay and multimedia artist Roo Abrook focussing on the punk zeitgeist, the importance of individuality and the importance of the Do It Yourself ethos. The exhibition at the Round Tower in Old Portsmouth proudly displayed the artists’ works hung from the arched ceilings and limited run zines and t-shirts were sold at the event. An interactive projector installation invited visitors to play with elements and motifs pulled from the finished works, whilst strips of hand-painted wallpaper hung from the ceiling near the entryway like tassels of torn punk manifestos.
