Did I Work Today?

‘Did I Work Today?’... Winniemay’s most self-explorative project to date; a daring performative painting performed for crowds over days that brought her work on her Masters of Fine Art at Central St. Martins to an intriguing and monumental final point. The audience observed her messy balancing act between creativity and domestic maintenance as an audio recording and collection of free zines completed the atmosphere.

Currently, Winniemay’s work traverses themes of gender, maintenance and unseen labour. She uses inanimate objects as witnesses to events and imagery that evokes a narrative on social and familial history, made bolder and more evocative by their autobiographical nature.
